During firmware upgrade of C7000 OA from version 3.7 to 4.01 (SPP 9/2013) using HP SUM, all blades lost connectivity between another blades / customer network about 3 times, 5 minutes total.

This blades were a nodes of Hyper-V cluster, and cluster become unstable – some customer services stopped.

As I know upgrading of OA firmware does not affect to blades/interconnects, how come that happened?

Did they have one OA or two? Are the VC modules properly stacked?

Without proper stacking, the VCs would have used the OA ethernet link as the communication channel. When the OA goes ‘out’ for more than 25 seconds, you could have wound up with dual VC masters.
